Hatch Valley Chile Festival, New Mexico
As the hot Summer weather cools down, the Village of Hatch, New Mexico heats up. Labor Day weekend is the annual Hatch Chile Festival, a two-day gathering of this world-famous crop.
The festival regularly attracts over 30,000 visitors from all over the United States and Internationally, including such TV crews from the Food Network and the BBC.
Festival goers will get a chance to sample the famed chile recipes, watch the chile festival queen crowning or take part in the horseshoe toss, in celebration of this most famous crop.
The event also features chile ristra contests, artisan and food booths, and a carnival.
